Our story
Two journeys. One American dream.
From Cuba and Peru to building American Lines Express together in Miami.

The people behind the name
Maura and Rafael Peña.
In the 1980s, Rafael came to America from Cuba and Maura came from Peru. Each was reaching for the American dream. Together, they saw a future they could build for themselves.
Rafael began driving trucks in 1993. But their vision went beyond the next load. In 2001, they founded American Lines Express in Miami. Rafael was the company's first truck driver. Maura was its dispatcher.
Side by side, they learned the ropes of running their own trucking company. Millions of miles later, they are living the dream they came here to pursue: moving America as a family.
Today, Maura serves as President and Rafael as Operations Manager. AMLINEX carries their story forward as the public-facing brand of American Lines Express, Inc.
